Footsteps

Ben Harriott is fascinated with how the mind works and how art can influence the intellectual faculties of the mind, specifically memory and perception.

After researching the work of Marie-Louise Pierrepont (Countess Manvers of Thoresby Hall) during the residency and developing an understanding of her portraits of workers, relatives and tenants of the Estate, Ben has used the camera as a device to capture the energy of Thoresby, the true essence of this country estate. Like Countess Manvers, his art aims to elevate seemingly ordinary subjects; transforming images of daily life and making them extraordinary.

Following on from the previous exhibition, Good Mawnin, this body of work aims to capture the relationship between the physical and non-physical.
